May Vegan Urthbox Review

 April Vegan Urthbox
Truth be told, this review is a little late. I typically get my Urthboxes delivered to my college apartment, but I was visiting home for most of May and missed my delivery. It took me a while to get through all the products, which just points to another great thing about Urthbox.  Everything is shelf stable. You can take as long as you need to pick through everything (or leave it at the front desk of your apartment for weeks on end).

6350* Natural Foods: Dried Raspberry Leather

These little strips are reminiscent of Fruit Roll Ups with a more authentic taste. I’m typically not a fan of fruit leather, but these absolutely grew on me. I ended up finishing the whole bag. They’re an easy snack for those times when you have a faint, nagging sort of hunger. This raspberry flavor is sweet without being too sweet. The entire bag is under 300 calories!

Organic Living Superfoods: Raw Chia Energy Squares
Have you seen the wave of energy balls online? They’re incredibly popular on a lot of health food blogs. Most recipes consist of a combination of dates, nuts, and a few other ingredients. These squares are the real deal and great if you don’t have the motivation or the tools to make your own. Chia seeds are packed with nutrients. One serving contains around 11 grams of fiber, 4 grams of protein, and 5 grams of omega-3 fats. They’re a superfood. Try ’em. Try these!

Nud Fud: Spirulina Banana Crisps
Disclaimer: you will either love or hate these. I fall in the “love” catagory. They tasted like banana without any of that nasty artifical banana flavor! Even if these might not be up your alley, Nud Fud  has other flavors of crisps you can try. Even better, you can even look into trying some Spirulina elsewhere. Spirulina is a blue-green powder made from algae. It improves digestion, promotes natural detox, and is a nautral source of tons of B vitamins. The kicker- it also has 4 times the antioxident power of blueberries. Spirulina gets an A+.

Fruigees: Nothing Beets Cherry
Does this look like baby food to you? It’s okay; it kind of is. I believe these sorts of packaged, pureed fruits are meant for hiking or taking on the go. Me? I put them in smoothies. They add a multidimensional fruity flavor without me having to go to the store and (for example) juice beets, pit cherries, and sweeten it all up. I made my smoothie with Fruigees, a banana, some frozen mango, and usweetened coconut milkbeets cherry fruit snack

TK Hibiscus: Cool Mint Hibiscus Tea
A classic order of Passion Tea from Starbucks is full of artificial sweetneers and syrups. I typically order mine unsweetened, which eliminates the problem, but also takes away some of that yummy aftertaste we like so much. This tea is sweetened with agave and inhanced with mint. They also make other flavors! Bonus: this glass jar is totally reusable for your future tea enjoyment. For about a week, I brewed hot tea in my glass and set it in the fridge to cool overnight. Tea is good for you year round- just cool it off so you can still happily sip in the summer!hibiscus tea
